Job Summary
Head of Community to build and scale the developer network for a US-based, remote-first startup in the developer infrastructure space. Plan, manage, and execute developer meetups and hackathons in the San Francisco Bay Area every two months, including venue sourcing, speaker recruitment, and follow-up. Lead ecosystem networking with high-profile speakers and partners, manage the online Slack community with authentic engagement, and establish relationships across the developer tools ecosystem. Translate community activity, event attendance, and digital engagement into actionable leads to accelerate the commercial pipeline. Requires deep knowledge of the developer infrastructure landscape, plus 0–5 years of experience in community building, event management, or field marketing within developer tools or DevOps. Willingness to travel to San Francisco for events and operate in a remote-first model within the United States.
Required Qualifications
- Experience: 0 to 5 years of dedicated experience in community building, event management, or field marketing specifically within developer tools, DevOps, or developer infrastructure sectors.
- Ecosystem Knowledge: Deeply embedded within the developer infrastructure landscape with an existing network of builders, engineers, and companies.
- Execution Strategy: Proven track record of organizing developer-focused events end-to-end and successfully turning community interest into quantifiable sales pipeline.
- Operational Mindset: A scrappy, resourceful, and self-directed operator who thrives on hands-on execution rather than large corporate budgets and heavy managerial structures.
- Location & Travel: Based in the United States with the ability to travel to San Francisco every two months for events (residency in the San Francisco Bay Area is highly preferred).
