Job Summary
Head of Communications at Taxbit will develop and lead global communications strategy, serving as trusted advisor to the executive team on external communications and regulatory messaging, overseeing internal communications, leading press and media outreach, maintaining analyst relationships, managing crisis communications, and partnering with marketing to ensure cohesive messaging across channels. The role focuses on crypto, fintech, and compliance verticals, with accountability for building Taxbit’s narrative, translating regulatory developments into public-facing narratives, and driving thought leadership to establish Taxbit as the authority in crypto tax and compliance. Requires 10+ years in corporate communications in regulated tech, strong media relations, and experience guiding executive messaging in high-growth environments. Hybrid in-office/remote work model in San Francisco, CA.
Required Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience in corporate communications, public relations, or a related field, with a proven track record in high-growth, regulated technology environments (crypto experience preferred; fintech or financial services experience required)
- Proven track record of identifying opportunities to build, test, and scale AI-powered solutions
- Established relationships with crypto, fintech, and business media, with a track record of placements in tier 1 and tier 2 publications
- Strong analyst relations experience, with the ability to build credibility with firms that influence institutional buyers
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to distill complex regulatory and technical topics into clear, compelling narratives for diverse audiences
- Demonstrated experience advising executive leadership on communications strategy, regulatory messaging, and reputational risk
- Experience managing crisis communications in fast-moving, high-stakes environments
- Experience managing internal communications in a global, high-growth environment, with a track record of driving employee engagement and organizational alignment
- Experience leading and developing high-performing communications teams
- Impeccable organization and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple workstreams and stakeholders simultaneously
- Comfortable with change, ambiguity, and rapid iteration — you see opportunity where others see uncertainty
- Self-directed, with the ability to prioritize and deliver in a high-growth environment
