Job Summary
Lead and develop the Child Care Department, managing a varied caseload of public law children matters from instruction through to conclusion. Supervise junior lawyers and support staff while acting as the Legal Aid Supervisor for the team. Undertake your own advocacy where appropriate and maintain exceptional client care standards to strengthen existing relationships. Contribute to the strategic direction and continued success of the department. This role offers genuine autonomy within a friendly, collaborative culture, featuring ongoing investment in professional development via LexisNexis and MBL training.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years' PQE in Child Care law
- Accreditation with the Law Society Children Panel
- Eligibility and willingness to act as a Legal Aid Supervisor
- Strong knowledge of Legal Aid procedures
- Experience supervising or mentoring junior team members
- Excellent advocacy skills and confidence representing clients in court
- Outstanding client care and communication skills
- The ability to work both independently and collaboratively
