Head of Bancassurance - Uganda

Job Summary
Head of Bancassurance in Uganda leads growth across Banking, Microfinance, and SACCO partnerships. Owns end-to-end deal lifecycle from origination and pitching to final closure, and drives revenue targets. Designs and executes a sophisticated bancassurance GTM strategy, identifies high-potential partners, and collaborates with internal teams on product design, pricing, and competitive positioning. Builds executive relationships with C-suite and regulators, leads complex negotiations, and accelerates deal flow within East Africa. Responsible for pipeline management, CRM discipline, and regular partner engagement, with a focus on scalable, long-term revenue and market development. Requires 7–10 years in Sales or BD leadership in B2B2C/bancassurance, a Bachelor’s degree in Business or related fields, a hunter mindset, regional East Africa experience, API/tech familiarity, and strong leadership skills.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Business or related fields
- 7–10 years of experience in Sales or Business Development leadership, specifically focused on B2B2C or bancassurance deals
- Experience working across East Africa and understanding of local insurance regulations
- Hunter mindset with proven ability to map untapped markets and identify high-value opportunities
- Strong organizational and leadership skills
- Ability to build and manage high-quality pipeline of bancassurance opportunities
- Experience leading end-to-end deal cycles from origination to closure
- Familiarity with API-driven products or tech platforms
