Job Summary
The Head of Automation will lead company-wide automation transformation, building and managing specialized teams to create AI-powered automation solutions. This foundational role involves developing a comprehensive automation strategy using Shelf's innovative AI platform, collaborating with various departments to identify automation opportunities, and ensuring successful delivery of automation initiatives. Candidates should possess deep technical expertise in Node.js, Python, GenAI/LLM technologies, alongside strong experience in building teams in high-growth environments. Proven leadership skills and a results-driven mindset are essential.
Required Qualifications
- 8+ years of overall experience
- 2+ years in automation
- 3+ years in leadership roles
- Proven track record of scaling technical teams
- Strong technical background in Node.js, Python, AI/LLM technologies, and agentic frameworks
- Experience with data engineering, ontology design, and enterprise data platforms (Databricks, Snowflake)
- Excellent communication skills with ability to present technical concepts to executive audiences
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with automation platforms and integration tools (RPA, workflow automation, API integrations)
- Advanced degree preferred
