Job Summary
Head of AI role leading strategy and hands-on ML efforts. Own AI direction across computer vision, document understanding, OCR, and related modeling problems; architect and train deep learning systems for production use; design training workflows, evaluation frameworks, monitoring, and feedback loops to improve model quality at scale. Mentor engineers, drive cross-functional collaboration with engineering, product, and leadership, and translate technical work into product impact. Requires deep expertise in modern deep learning, experience shipping production-ready systems, and a track record of solving novel ML problems in a startup environment.
Required Qualifications
- Master’s degree or PhD in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field with a strong focus on deep learning
- 6+ years of experience with deep learning systems, especially computer vision
- 4+ years of experience building and adapting model architectures in PyTorch
- 3+ years of experience applying deep learning to computer vision problems (object detection, semantic segmentation, OCR, document understanding)
- Proven ability to implement, adapt, and improve techniques from literature; production-ready ML systems
- Experience owning or leading technical direction for complex ML initiatives
- Strong production-grade code and scalable ML workflows
