Job Summary
Lead and manage the complete Indian accounting function, overseeing day-to-day operations, team supervision, and mentorship of accountants. Review bookkeeping entries, ledgers, and financial records for accuracy while managing bank, vendor, and customer reconciliations. Ensure timely GST and TDS compliance, including return filings and documentation, and oversee multi-currency accounting and inter-company transactions. Coordinate with auditors and tax consultants to support sound financial decision-making, establish internal controls, and drive continuous process improvements. Prepare MIS reports and management insights, ensuring accurate month-end and year-end closures.
Required Qualifications
- 4+ years of relevant accounting and finance experience
- Strong exposure to Indian accounting operations
- Proven experience leading or supervising an accounting team
- Strong practical knowledge of GST, TDS, reconciliations, bookkeeping, financial reporting, and accounts finalization
- Experience managing month-end and year-end closing processes
- Strong understanding of Indian accounting and statutory compliance requirements
- Hands-on experience with multi-currency accounting and inter-company transactions
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to review financial data and identify discrepancies or process gaps
- Experience preparing MIS and management reports and presenting meaningful financial insights
- Ability to establish and maintain strong internal controls, SOPs, and accounting processes
- Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills
- Experience working with auditors and external consultants
- Excellent attention to detail
