Job Summary
Inspect, diagnose, and repair mechanical defects in golf course maintenance equipment, including mower grinding, motor overhauls, and braking system adjustments. Maintain preventative maintenance programs, manage inventory and parts orders, and ensure fiscal accountability for the equipment budget. Perform machining or welding work for fittings and oversee electrical system diagnostics. Schedule appropriate maintenance, train new associates on equipment operation, and implement safe work practices while communicating policy changes to the department.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Driver's License
- Mechanics Certificate from Gas and Diesel Engine Training
- Certificate from college or technical school
- minimum of 1 year related experience and/or training
- equivalent combination and experience
- Experience managing personnel
- Microsoft Office systems
- ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
- ability to write routine reports and correspondence
- ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or associates of the organization
- ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
- ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent
- ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
- ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
- Regularly uses close, distance, color, and peripheral vision as well as depth perception
- Ability to adjust focus
