Job Summary
Lead department staff by scheduling and training personnel while teaching aquatics-based merit badges and lessons to youth groups of 2-24. Present programs, turn in advancement paperwork, and assist with set-up, maintenance, and take-down of program areas. Provide First Aid as needed and maintain a clean, organized, inspected, neat, and safe work area while modeling the Scout Oath and Law in daily interactions. Perform additional duties assigned by SBR leadership and adhere to policies outlined in the staff handbook. Work 45-55 hours daily with a physical requirement to stand, walk, swim, and paddle up to 8 hours while lifting up to 50 pounds. Complete the Annual Health and Medical Record.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum age: 18+
- Current lifeguard certification (Red Cross etc.)
- Required 1+ yr. leading teams
- Willing to become a registered Scouting America member (includes background screening)
- Ability to stand, walk, swim, and paddle up to 8 hours daily
- Ability to lift/move up to 50 pounds
- Ability to complete the Annual Health and Medical Record, including height/weight guidelines

- Adaptability in a fast-paced environment with ability to learn/develop hard and soft skills
