Job Summary
Head Lifeguard (Part-Time) oversees on-shift operations and lifeguard safety, mentors Lifeguards, assists in staff scheduling and training, conducts lifeguard and swim-instructor duties, maintains pool cleanliness, ensures compliance with Alberta Health Regulations and Lifesaving Society Standards, facilitates routine operational tasks, and delivers exceptional customer service. The role requires leading a team, providing feedback, instructing staff using training checklists, and coordinating with the Aquatics Lead and Manager of Aquatics to ensure efficient aquatic programs, with flexible evening/weekend hours.
Required Qualifications
- National Lifeguard Award (NL)
- Intermediate First Aid, CPR Level C/AED
- Lifesaving Society Instructor (LSI)
- AFLCA Aquafitness certification/ or equivalent certification
- Swim Coaching experience or certification is an asset
- Minimum of 2 years or 2080 hours of lifeguard experience
- Proficiency with MS Office suite and scheduling software
- Knowledge of Alberta Health Regulations (Pool)
- Demonstrated leadership/supervision experience
- Strong customer service and communication skills
