Job Summary
Plan, organize, and supervise the district's JV wrestling program, ensuring it remains educationally sound and athletically productive. Build and maintain a safe environment by enforcing proper conditioning, first aid procedures, and emergency protocols. Manage daily operations including practice planning, equipment inventory, and compliance with South Carolina High School League rules. Conduct parent meetings, communicate policies and expectations, and promote the program through media exposure and fundraising. Ensure all participants undergo physical examinations and maintain positive relationships with families and the booster club.
Required Qualifications
- Valid physical examination
- Ability to lift or move items weighing up to 50 pounds
- Ability to work under a degree of stress related to duties that require constant attention to detail
- Ability to operate general office equipment
Desired Qualifications
- School district employee
- Minimum of one year of coaching experience
- Thorough knowledge and understanding of the fundamentals of the sport
- Knowledge of the records, forms and reports which must be prepared and maintained
- Knowledge of proper maintenance of equipment, materials and supplies used in daily activities for athletic and extracurricular programs
- Ability to provide instruction to others through explanation, demonstration and/or supervised practice
- Ability to plan and manage sports programs
- Possesses skill and ability in organizing, planning, and coordinating the activities of groups toward identified objectives
- Ability to prepare detailed reports and schedules as required
- Ability to communicate effectively with parents, students, teachers, district administrators, and other persons of varied backgrounds
