Job Summary
Plan and conduct practices, skill development, and game preparation while teaching sport-specific techniques, strategies, and fundamentals. Provide feedback to student-athletes and assist with scouting, equipment management, travel, and outdoor facility maintenance, including field upkeep, weather-related cleanup, and end-of-season teardown. Communicate professionally with families, officials, and the community while promoting sportsmanship and accountability. Follow all district, conference, and state rules and policies. Maintain integrity and reliability as a role model within the close-knit Lisbon Community School District.
Required Qualifications
- Current Iowa Department of Education Coaching Authorization
- Strong knowledge of the sport and its rules, techniques, and strategies
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively as part of a coaching team
- Completion of required district trainings or willingness to complete them
- Demonstrate integrity, professionalism, reliability, and good judgment
- Serve as a positive role model for student-athletes
- Maintain a positive attitude toward students, staff, the school, and community
- Follow district policies and applicable laws and regulations
- Accept feedback and seek opportunities for improvement
- Communicate respectfully with students, staff, families, officials, and community members
- Be dependable, organized, and willing to contribute beyond practices and competitions when needed to support the overall program
