Job Summary
Head Grower leads planting, cultivation and harvest operations in the greenhouse, supervising staff and coordinating labor with the Greenhouse Labor Supervisor and HR. The role involves touring greenhouses to monitor plant health, deciding actions for pests or disease, overseeing pesticide use and disposal, maintaining day-to-day records, and developing production plans in partnership with management. The Head Grower provides advanced technical guidance to greenhouse personnel, conducts horticultural research and analysis, and supports implementation of new production plans. Responsibilities include ensuring safety and compliance with company, client, and project policies; motivating staff; resolving labor issues; interpreting policies; planning and caring for greenhouse production in collaboration with the Greenhouse Manager; and fostering teamwork to meet timelines and budgets. Required qualifications include 2 years of horticulture experience, strong horticultural knowledge, leadership and communication skills, and the ability to follow safe procedures for fertilizers, pesticides, fungicides and herbicides.
Required Qualifications
- 2 years of direct work experience in horticulture
