Job Summary
Lead and mentor student-athletes as Head Girls JV Basketball Coach; supervise athletes at all times, organize meetings with parents to discuss policies and expectations, manage forms (physical and concussion), prepare and issue equipment/uniforms, enforce training rules and eligibility, organize home events and facilities, supervise locker rooms, attend practices and games or be available for scouting, report injuries to athletic trainer, assist in completing accident forms, notify media of outcomes and help prepare stats, and collaborate with activities director and administration. Requires Iowa coaching license or ability to obtain it; requires high school diploma or equivalent; applicants must be U.S. citizens, permanent residents, or hold an active work visa. May require extended contract if team advances.
Required Qualifications
- Must have valid U.S. citizenship, permanent residency, or an active work visa.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Must have or be able to obtain an Iowa Coaching license.
- Ability to work well with others and willingness to assume responsibility.
- Ability to effectively supervise students while maintaining a positive relationship with them.
- Enjoys working with young people as well as staff and parents.
- Capable of representing the school in a professional manner, including confidentiality, good oral and written communication skills, regular attendance and appropriate dress.
