Job Summary
Head Girls and Boys Cross Country Coach responsible for coaching theory and techniques, care and prevention of athletic injuries, CPR/EMT credentials as applicable, emergency procedures, and compliance with district and CIF rules. The role emphasizes student-athlete safety, supervision, teamwork, discipline, leadership, and ethical conduct in an interscholastic athletics program, with emphasis on developing runners and adhering to the district Code of Ethical Conduct and sport-specific regulations.
Required Qualifications
- CPR card or equivalent
- First aid card or EMT certification (EMT I or II)
- CPR card
- valid Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) I or II
- knowledge of coaching theory and techniques
- familiarity with rules and regulations of California Interscholastic Federation (CIF) and North Coast Section
- knowledge of child or adolescent psychology related to sports participation
- demonstrated competency in care and prevention of athletic injuries
- ability to communicate rules effectively and instill teamwork and discipline
- compliance with district ethical conduct and safety standards
- fingerprint clearance prior to coaching duties
