Head Football Coach

Job Summary

Conduct organizational meetings to recruit team prospects and assess player skills to assign positions. Implement weekly practice schedules, submit plans by Monday 4pm, and attend all practices 15 minutes early. Coach athletes on rules, techniques, and game strategy while monitoring behavior and academic eligibility. Observe players during competition to identify improvement needs and follow injury protocols. Represent the organization by promoting the sport to community partners and attending parent conferences. Maintain equipment supplies and participate in special events like banquets and pep assemblies. Requires USA Football and CPR/AED certification; includes a $2,000 one-time stipend. Part-time, in-person role at Wakeman Boys & Girls Club.

Required Qualifications

  • USA Football Certification
  • CPR & AED Certification
  • Experience working with youth grades 3rd-8th
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to motivate youth and manage behavior
  • Knowledge of youth development strategies
  • Ability to work with youth and families from a variety of backgrounds
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • This position may require standing for long periods of time
  • This position may require lifting items up to 50lbs

Desired Qualifications

  • Boys & Girls Club or youth organization experience preferred
