Job Summary
Translate Standard Bank Group's data vision and strategy into actionable data strategies for the Country/BU/Corporate Function to support organizational objectives. Implement these strategies by coordinating and facilitating data programs that enable consistent, effective data-driven business decisions. Enforce governance and compliance, ensuring alignment with Group frameworks, policies, standards, and data protection legislation. Manage large-scale change projects from concept to implementation while balancing strategic requirements and delivery constraints. Build and optimize big data pipelines, architectures, and datasets, including databases, warehouses, and reporting solutions using tools like Apache Hadoop, NoSQL platforms, and Redshift. Perform root cause analysis on internal and external data processes to answer business questions and identify improvement opportunities. Requires a postgraduate degree in IT, Data Science, or related fields with 6-10 years of experience in technology management, stakeholder engagement, and Agile development.
Required Qualifications
- Post Graduate Degree
- Field of Study: Information Technology, Data Science or related field
- 6-10 years experience in demand and stakeholder management
- Experience integrating strategies with service providers to deliver large scale change projects from concept to implementation
- Experience working with senior business and technology stakeholders
- Balancing strategic requirements and delivery constraints
- Deep knowledge and understanding of a variety of data platforms, including big data tools and relational database servers
- Experience with Apache Hadoop
- Experience with other NoSQL data platforms
- Experience working in a multi-vendor and outsourced IT environment
- A good understanding and proven track record in Agile development ways of working
- Proven experience in building and optimising 'big data' data pipelines, architectures and data sets
- Proven experience in building databases, warehouses and reporting solutions
- Building data integration solutions
- Experience with data pipeline and workflow management tools
- Experience with cloud services
- Experience with Redshift
- Experience performing root cause analysis on internal and external data and processes
- Answering specific business questions
