Job Summary
Head Custodian responsible for leading custodial operations, planning and assigning work to custodial personnel, and ensuring cleaning of buildings, facilities, and grounds. Responsibilities include leading cleaning operations (floor waxing/stripping, vacuuming, dusting), inspecting safety and security procedures for compliance, training custodians, maintaining records and simple reports, coordinating with supervisor, and performing minor maintenance and repairs (electrical, HVAC filters, lighting) as needed. Requires strong communication and organizational skills, ability to work extended hours and be on call for emergencies, knowledge of district safety regulations and privacy laws (HIPAA, FERPA, Public Records), and experience with district computer applications. Preferred qualifications include three years of custodial experience in industrial/commercial settings and substitution of relevant experience or education to meet minimum qualifications; the role may involve lawn care and after-hours coverage and acting as a team leader when the Building Supervisor is absent.
