Job Summary
Head Cook leads and develops the kitchen team and collaborates with the Restaurant Manager to monitor COGS, labor, and operating expenses. The role supports training and growth across the kitchen, participates in a comprehensive training program, and contributes to ongoing leadership development within a new Guzman y Gomez restaurant. The position requires a Certificate in Commercial Cookery or equivalent experience, strong food safety knowledge, and excellent interpersonal/communication skills. Required Qualifications
- Certificate in commercial cookery or equivalent experience
- Experience in a kitchen / cooking role within a busy hospitality environment
- Experience leading and developing a team
- Ability to understand, interpret and explain key kitchen financial performance indicators including cost of goods, labor costs and wastage
- Sound understanding of food safety concerns
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
