Job Summary
Head Coach for the Upper School Girls Varsity Tennis program. Responsibilities include leading practices and competitions, developing players’ skills and sportsmanship, coordinating with athletic administration and the Middle School Athletics Director on administrative tasks (equipment, uniforms, transportation, game scheduling, referees), organizing end-of-season meetings and awards, supervising travel on school vans, and maintaining compliance with school policies. Requires at least 2 years of tennis coaching experience, strong communication and organizational skills, knowledge of competitive tennis strategies, CPR/First Aid or willingness to obtain, LiveScan background check, a California driver’s license, and the ability to travel with the team. Seasonal, part-time, non-exempt role with associated overtime as needed; may involve outside work hours and mandatory meetings.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED equivalent; college degree preferred
- A minimum of 2 years previous Tennis Coach Experience
- previous Tennis playing experience at a high level
- Demonstrated ability to develop, organize and supervise a successful tennis team
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Knowledge of tennis techniques and strategies applicable to interscholastic athletics in California
- CPR/First Aid certification or willingness to obtain
- Demonstrated ethical conduct and professional behavior
- Ability to collaborate with a broad and diverse school community
- Google, Word, Excel, PowerPoint proficiency
- Must submit to LiveScan fingerprinting background check
- Must comply with COVID-19 testing as required
- Clean driving record and California driver’s license
- Ability to travel with team and transport student athletes
- Ability to supervise practices, competitions, and team travel
- Seasonal scheduling and coordination with Middle School Athletics Director
