Job Summary

Head Coach Track & Field responsible for developing and leading a competitive and educational athletic program. Plan, organize, and conduct practices and competitions; teach sport-specific skills and conditioning; develop practice plans and game strategies; foster teamwork, leadership, and sportsmanship; ensure adherence to team rules, school policies, and safety procedures; coordinate equipment, facilities, and program needs; communicate with student-athletes, parents, staff, and administration; maintain records and assist with recruitment and participation efforts; represent the school professionally at events. Requires coaching experience, strong leadership and interpersonal skills, ability to motivate student-athletes, and compliance with background checks; CPR/First Aid preferred. This is a school-year, hourly position (July 1, 2026 – June 30, 2027) with a maximum allotment of $3,000 equivalent to 120 hours at $25/hour; non-exempt employment status.

Required Qualifications

  • Previous coaching experience in Track & Field or related athletic experience preferred
  • Knowledge of sport-specific rules and techniques
  • Ability to work with high school-aged students in a structured environment
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
  • Ability to motivate and mentor student-athletes while maintaining high expectations
  • CPR/First Aid certification preferred
  • Background check and fingerprint clearance as required
