Job Summary
Head Coach/Varsity Coach at Avon High School leads interscholastic Track and Field program under the Avon Athletic Department. Coaches individual participants, plans and schedules practices, coordinates contest scheduling with the Athletic Coordinator, and oversees safety of facilities. Recommends equipment purchases, maintains attendance and safety records, enforces discipline and sportsmanship, distributes and collects gear, and evaluates assistant coaches with written reports. Requires CT Coaching Permit eligibility and current or eligible First Aid/CPR certification; adheres to CIAC season policies, concussion and sports-injury regulations, and district rules. Works with Athletic Coordinator and Principal to ensure a positive, safe student-athlete experience and alignment with district standards.
Required Qualifications
- Possesses or is eligible for a Connecticut Coaching Permit issued through the CT State Department of Education
- Current First Aid and CPR or eligibility to earn certification
