Job Summary
Head Coach, Softball is responsible for leading IMG Academy’s softball program, including player development, team operations, training implementation, recruiting, staff leadership, and program culture. The role focuses on creating a high-performance environment for athletic and personal development, and includes planning and leading practices, developing student-athletes’ technical, tactical, physical, and mental performance, utilizing softball technology and video review, coordinating with Strength & Conditioning, Sports Medicine, Mental Performance, and Performance Science teams, preparing teams for competitions and recruiting events, and guiding college recruitment and placement efforts. The position also emphasizes recruiting and retaining high-performing coaches and staff, fostering an inclusive, growth-oriented culture, maintaining strong relationships with collegiate/professional programs, and ensuring compliance with IMG Academy policies and governing-body regulations; travel and schedule management for games, tournaments, and events are required.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 7 years of experience playing, coaching, or managing softball at the collegiate, professional, academy, or elite amateur level
- Bachelor’s degree in Sports Management, Physical Education, Business Administration, or related field preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Strong commitment to student-athlete development, welfare, and overall experience
- Proven leadership ability with experience managing staff, building culture, and driving program success
- Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
- Strong understanding of recruiting, player evaluation, and college placement processes
- Experience utilizing softball technology, analytics platforms, and video analysis systems preferred
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, high-performance environment
- Ability to collaborate effectively across departments and leadership teams
- Willingness and ability to travel as required
