Job Summary
Plan, organize, and coordinate the Boys DSL Flag Football interscholastic sports program under the direction of the Division Head and Athletic Director. Recruit, select, mentor, and supervise the coaching staff while instructing student-athletes in sport-related functions and enforcing health and safety regulations. Supervise practices, games, tournaments, and team travel, observing participants to correct errors and developing physical conditioning programs for maximum performance. Collaborate with administrators and athletic trainers to monitor injuries, review return-to-play protocols, and ensure athletes meet academic eligibility. Submit contest results to the Athletic Director and maintain an up-to-date Team Page. Work effectively with school and community stakeholders to support the program's development.
Required Qualifications
- NFHS Concussion in Sports
- NFHS Sudden Cardiac Arrest (SCA)
- First Aid/CPR
- Knowledge of principles, goals, and objectives of TVT
- Knowledge of methods, techniques, procedures, and strategies concerning the development and maintenance of an effective interscholastic sports program
- Knowledge of sports interest groups and organizations within the local community
- Knowledge of modern trends and strategies pertaining to interscholastic sports
- Ability to provide teaching and instruction in athletic skill development
- Ability to analyze and assess interscholastic sports program needs, and offer recommendations pertaining to program revisions, additions, or deletions
- Ability to understand and carry out oral and written directions with minimal accountability controls
- Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing
- Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds
