Job Summary
Head Coach for Boys Basketball (Winter Season) responsible for the academic, athletic, and personal development of student-athletes. Plans and conducts structured practices, develops game strategies, coordinates transportation and facilities with the Athletic Director, supervises athletes during practices and contests, ensures compliance with district policies and MSHSAA rules, maintains records (attendance, eligibility, uniforms, insurance), communicates with players, parents, and staff, and supports program development across freshman, JV, and varsity levels while promoting equity, inclusion, and safety. The role requires budget-aligned equipment management, adherence to safety protocols (including concussion awareness), and evening/weekend commitments.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous coaching experience preferred (high school or equivalent level)
- Knowledge of sport-specific rules, techniques, and training methods
- Ability to work effectively with students, staff, parents, and community members
- Maintain certifications as required by district or state (e.g., CPR/AED, first aid, concussion training)
