Job Summary
Create, plan, and execute fresh, from-scratch weekly menus with client and management input. Direct all food preparation and staff while maintaining outstanding sanitation practices and kitchen cleanliness. Oversee kitchen operations, manage schedules, train staff, and order supplies within budgetary requirements. Enforce food safety standards and communicate regularly via calls, emails, and texts. Assist in planning special events as directed. Maintain a professional attitude with coworkers and customers. This role offers very few late nights and weekends, paid vacations, and a competitive 401K match.
Required Qualifications
- Classically trained Chef
- Driven by love and passion for food
- 3+ years in professional, high-volume food production or catering
- Equivalent combination of relevant education and/or experience
- Ability to pass a background check
- Valid manager level sanitation certification
- Capability to obtain manager level sanitation certification within 30 days of employment
- Ability to work well as part of a team
- Ability to understand, remember, and apply oral and/or written instructions
- Ability to deal with challenging customers in a professional manner
- Understanding and proficiency in various cooking methods, cuisines, ingredients, equipment, and procedures
- Commit to a professional appearance and positive attitude
- Ability to maintain excellent record of kitchen and staff management
- Ability to exhibit accuracy and speed in handling emergency situations and providing solutions
- Familiarity with the industry's best practices
- Capability to work in a kitchen environment that may involve exposure to extreme heat or cold
- Ability to stand for long periods, up to 8+ hours
- Ability to walk, bend and stoop
- Ability to lift and/or move objects up to 50 pounds
- Exposure to cleaning chemicals
