Job Summary
Head Chef responsible for leading Sanremo Italian Restaurant's kitchen in Bath: design and cost seasonal menus, oversee food preparation, stock control, and ordering; manage budgets, wastage, and profitability; train and mentor junior staff; ensure food safety, HACCP, allergen compliance, and high hygiene standards; drive guest experience through operational excellence and collaboration with front-of-house; lead service in a fast-paced environment, coordinate events and private dining, and maintain equipment and inventory. Requires leadership experience as Head Chef or Senior Sous Chef, strong Italian cuisine knowledge, menu development and kitchen management skills, and Food Safety Level 3 certification (or willingness to obtain).
Required Qualifications
- Food Safety Level 3 certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Experience as Head Chef or Senior Sous Chef in a high-volume restaurant environment
- Strong knowledge of Italian cuisine and modern culinary trends
- Proven experience in menu development and kitchen management
- Excellent leadership, organisational, and communication skills
- Strong understanding of food costing, stock management, and labour control
