Job Summary
Support the Executive Head Chef in leading and managing all aspects of the kitchen operation across restaurant service and large-scale events. Lead, supervise, train, and motivate the kitchen team to ensure consistently high standards of food preparation, presentation, and quality. Oversee food production, manage stock levels, and control food costs while maintaining strict compliance with HACCP procedures and safety requirements. Carry out regular quality control checks and collaborate with Front of House and wider management to ensure smooth operations. This full-time role involves a Monday-to-Sunday schedule with flexible hours and requires the legal right to work in the UK. You will play a key role in the continued development of Pillar Hall, an iconic venue celebrating exceptional British produce.
Required Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Head Chef or in a comparable senior kitchen leadership position within a quality restaurant, hotel, events or hospitality environment
- Experience working within a high-volume or premium/fine-dining operation
- Strong leadership and people-management skills with the ability to motivate, develop and retain a high-performing kitchen team
- A genuine passion for producing consistently high-quality food
- Strong culinary skills with excellent attention to detail and presentation
- Excellent understanding of food costs, stock management, waste control and kitchen financial performance
- In-depth knowledge of food safety, hygiene and HACCP requirements
- Strong organisational, planning and time-management skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively under pressure
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work closely with both kitchen and wider operational teams
- Must have the legal right to work in the UK
- Flexibility regarding working hours in line with restaurant and event requirements
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with large-scale event preparation and production would be an advantage
- Highly motivated, proactive and enthusiastic with a positive, can-do attitude
