Job Summary
Head Chef is responsible for the daily BOH operations including food preparation, product quality, sanitation, and the supervision and development of kitchen leadership and staff. Manages BOH labor costs, waste, and controllable comps, creates weekly schedules, coordinates payroll adjustments with GM/AGM, oversees purchasing and receiving (including seafood from approved vendors), ensures proper storage, labeling, and allergy awareness, maintains kitchen equipment and facility standards, ensures health-regulation compliance and LuLu’s Allergy Program, and coordinates kitchen operations for on-site and off-site events. Supports hiring, onboarding, training, and ongoing development of BOH staff, and leads by example in LuLu’s core values and teamwork-focused culture.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- Degree in culinary arts, hospitality, business management, or related field preferred
- ServSafe Manager Certification preferred
- Three or more years of food preparation experience in a full-service restaurant
- One or more years of supervisory experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Strong leadership, organization, and communication skills
- Ability to thrive in a high-volume, fast-paced environment
