Job Summary
Experienced Unit Chef sought to supervise and participate in meal preparation for multiple locations. Responsibilities include planning, organizing, and supervising culinary operations of retail and catering services; menu planning based on market trends, customer preferences, and nutritional considerations; coordinating with district managers and other departments on daily dining service; directing and coordinating kitchen staff; and performing additional tasks as assigned. Requires culinary certification or equivalent education/experience, ServSafe certification, at least three years’ culinary-management experience, and pastry experience. Must be able to work with children and school administration and accommodate food-allergy considerations. Salary $27/hour, onsite full-time role in Tacoma, WA.
Required Qualifications
- Certification by a recognized culinary institution or equivalent education/experience
- ServSafe Certified
- At least three years’ experience in culinary management
- Experience with ordering and catering
- Pastry experience
- Flexibility working with children and school administration
- Experience preparing meals for students and staff with food allergy and intolerance constraints
- From Scratch big batch cooking experience
- Strong leadership and communication skills
