Job Summary
Conduct daily track and field coaching for Waters Middle School, managing program operations while applying extensive knowledge of sport rules and VHSL regulations. Lead training sessions that emphasize program centering, good sportsmanship, and working effectively with children, while leveraging background in college, club, or professional competition. Manage moderate physical activity involving handling objects up to 25 pounds and standing or walking for several hours, with potential exposure to extreme temperatures, dirt, dust, and loud noises. Submit a standard on-line application including two letters of reference and a recent TB test or screening.
Required Qualifications
- Must have extensive knowledge of the rules and skills in the sport applying for
- Must be program centered
- Must have specific skills
- Must exhibit good sportsmanship
- Must have knowledge of VHSL rules
- Must work well with children
- Must be able to handle average-weight objects up to 25 pounds
- Must be able to stand and/or walk for several hours per day
- Must be able to work in unusual elements, such as extreme temperatures, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, unpleasant odors, and/or loud noises
- Must be able to work in an environment with minimal exposure to physical risks, such as operating heavy and/or dangerous equipment or working with chemicals
- Must submit a standard on-line application
- Must provide two letters of reference
- Must provide a recent TB test or screening
Desired Qualifications
- Minimum of one year of coaching experience as an Assistant or Head Coach preferred
- Previously competed at the college level, club team or professional level
