Job Summary
Oversee the banquet operation in a luxury hotel environment, coordinating with Culinary, Catering, Sales, Stewarding, Housekeeping, Engineering, AV, and other departments to ensure flawless event execution. Lead scheduling, training, and supervision of banquet colleagues, manage inventory and supplies, monitor labor and expenses to align with profitability goals, and ensure adherence to brand standards, safety, and regulatory requirements. Engage with clients to review event details, service expectations, and post-function sign-offs, while maintaining high guest satisfaction through proactive service recovery and clear communication. Ensure proper setup of banquet rooms, buffet stations, receptions, and service areas, and act as Manager on Duty as needed while promoting teamwork and quality service.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Some college or formal training in food and beverage operations preferred
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in banquets or food and beverage operations, including at least 1 year of supervisory experience
- Previous experience in a union environment and/or New York Collective Bargaining Agreement environment preferred
- Must speak fluent English
- California Department of Health Food Handler Certification required
