Job Summary
Develop and maintain the school's Sports Medicine program, overseeing injury prevention, evaluation, treatment, and rehabilitation for student-athletes. Provide athletic training services by attending team practices and competitions, while coordinating with physicians to review physicals and manage medical referrals. Collaborate with strength and conditioning staff to ensure safety in fitness and nutrition programs, and assist the Athletic Director with enforcing school policies. Evaluate new techniques and equipment to enhance the program, maintain detailed patient records, and adhere to state statutes and the NATA Code of Ethics. This contract role covers five Richmond Public Schools high schools, requiring approximately 30 hours per week with practice and game coverage from 2:00pm to 7:00pm M-F, plus potential weekend and travel season duties.
Required Qualifications
- BOC Certified Athletic Trainer
- VA State Licensure
- Current CPR/AED certification
- One Travel Season
