Job Summary
Provide strategic leadership and clinical oversight for a comprehensive athletic training program supporting varsity and club sport student-athletes. Organize and administer sports medicine services, coordinate with other professionals, ensure NCAA health and safety compliance, and develop athletic healthcare policy. Influence future student-athlete wellness initiatives while managing minimum travel, night, and weekend work requirements. This role sits within the Athletics department at Eastern Connecticut State University, a public liberal arts university in Willimantic, Connecticut, which is part of the Connecticut State College and University System.
Required Qualifications
- Master's degree in Athletic Training, Sports Medicine, Healthcare Administration or a related field
- Licensed in the State of Connecticut as an athletic trainer
- Board of Certification (BOC) ATC Credential
- Minimum of five years of athletic training experience
- Minimum travel
- night and weekend work
Desired Qualifications
- PhD in Athletic Training, Sports Medicine, Healthcare Administration
- Experience leading or overseeing a sports medicine program
- Knowledge of strength and conditioning
- Prior experience in collegiate athletic training
- Knowledge of strength and conditioning practices
- First Aid/CPR/AED Instructor Certification
