Job Summary
The Head Age Group Coach at South YMCA is responsible for implementing training plans, overseeing swim team functions, and ensuring safety and effective communication with program participants. The role includes supervising swimmers and practices, assisting with meet preparations, and maintaining a clean swimming environment while promoting YMCA programs.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer certification
- First Aid certification
- Current YMCA Lifeguard certification or valid ASHI Lifeguard certification
- 2 years of related experience with competition experience
- YMCA Swim Coach Certification and USA Swimming Coach Certification
- Knowledge of competitive stroke, starts, and turns
- American Swim Coaches Association Levels 1 - 3 certification
Desired Qualifications
- 2-year college degree in Physical Education/Exercise Science/related field
- 1 year minimum of supervisory experience
- Computer skills, particularly with Microsoft Office and email applications
Additional Requirements
- Must hold a valid driver’s license
- Insurable drivers record according to YMCA’s insurance carriers
- Reliable transportation for business meetings and events
