HE Physical Education Teacher

Teaches a broad elementary curriculum including reading, language arts, social studies, mathematics, science, art, health, physical education, and music to pupils in a classroom using district-adopted course materials. Develops lesson plans and instructional materials, provides individualized and small group instruction, translates lesson plans into learning experiences, and establishes standards of pupil behavior to maintain a functional learning atmosphere. Evaluates pupils’ academic and social growth, maintains records, and prepares progress reports. Communicates with parents through conferences to discuss progress and interpret programs. Identifies pupil needs and collaborates with other staff to address health, attitude, and learning problems. Creates an engaging learning environment with displays and centers; participates in curriculum development, standardized testing, and IEP implementation; ensures appropriate instructional materials and inventory; supervises pupils during the day; completes required district and state education forms; and performs other duties as assigned.
