Job Summary
Install, lay out, align, and assemble HDPE pipe from 8" to 22" diameter using approved fusion equipment and procedures. Perform butt fusion and electrofusion welding, reading project drawings and fusion logs to ensure weld integrity meets quality standards. Safely operate and maintain fusion machines, generators, and facing tools while conducting visual inspections and documentation. Assist with trenching, bedding, pipe placement, tie-ins, and backfill operations. Follow all safety policies, maintain a clean work area, and perform general manual labor as required. Work collaboratively with crew members and inspectors to meet production schedules. Position based in Sanford, NC, with competitive pay and long shifts in various weather conditions.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience installing and welding HDPE pipe in heavy civil, utility, or infrastructure projects
- Demonstrated experience fusing HDPE pipe in the 8”–22” size range
- Must be certified in HDPE pipe fusion (butt fusion and/or electrofusion) by a recognized manufacturer or training provider (e.g., McElroy or equivalent)
- Ability to read and follow written and oral instructions, including fusion procedures and safety guidelines
- Must be able to talk, listen and speak clearly on telephone
