Job Summary
Deliver hot and frozen meals to homebound elderly residents in Eureka, Arcata, McKinleyville, and Fortuna while adhering to food safety standards and temperature requirements. Operate personal or agency vehicles to complete routes, maintaining equipment and submitting mileage reimbursement sheets. Transport additional items such as notices, pet food, and special event treats as requested. Complete daily paperwork, maintain route books, and inform the coordinator of participant updates or concerns. Assist with assessments and participate in required meetings and training. Treat participants and co-workers with respect and maintain confidentiality.
Required Qualifications
- Valid California Driver's License
- Personal auto liability insurance
- Personal vehicle in good driving/operating condition
- Personal vehicle insured for State minimum liability requirements
- Current CPR and First Aid certification within six (6) months of hire
- Clearance of a DOJ and FBI criminal history background check
- Motor Vehicle Report verification
- Ability to read, write and communicate effectively
- Ability to maintain accurate, neat records
- Proper food handling and sanitary skills
- Basic knowledge of computers and web-based applications such as timekeeping, training, and email programs
- Physical abilities sufficient to move between different work areas, communicate with co-workers and the public, operate a motor vehicle, complete basic reports, talk on the telephone, and travel to multiple locations
Desired Qualifications
- Food service or customer service background
- Knowledge and familiarity of geographic service area
- Availability during Monday through Friday between 8 am and 4 pm
- COVID-19 and Influenza (flu) vaccines
