Job Summary
Operate HDD drills, locating systems, vacuum excavators, and support equipment to install underground utilities while reading engineered drawings and bore plans. Perform potholing and soft-digging to identify existing utilities, then guide the drill head using electronic locating equipment to maintain proper line, depth, and grade. Manage mixing systems and drill mud pumps, complete bore logs and drilling records, and conduct routine inspections and maintenance of all equipment. Assist with pulling back conduit and product pipe, and support crew with excavation, backfilling, site restoration, and general labor duties. Requires valid Class A CDL, DOT Medical Card, and ability to perform physically demanding tasks including lifting up to 50 lbs. Required Qualifications
- Valid Class A CDL
- DOT Medical Card
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check
- Ability to stand or walk for long periods and perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting up to 50 lbs., kneeling, climbing, crawling, and reaching
- Previous HDD drilling or locating experience
- Strong understanding of underground utility construction practices

Desired Qualifications
- Previous HDD drilling or locating experience (Vermeer or Ditch Witch systems a plus)

- This position is subject to the Federal Department of Transportation (DOT) drug & alcohol testing regulations as outlined in 49 CFR Part 382 and/or 49 CFR Part 199.
