Job Summary
Provide coaching and mentoring to individuals with severe mental illness and dually diagnosed clients to promote recovery, self-advocacy, and self-direction. Deliver manualized interventions such as Wellness Recovery Action Planning and Illness Management and Recovery. Assist clients in developing psychiatric advance directives, modeling recovery values, and arranging medical appointments, therapy sessions, and support groups. Complete and maintain documentation according to federal and state guidelines while actively identifying community resources and referral sources. Participate in regular supervision with the Assertive Community Treatment Team Leader and perform other duties as assigned. Valid driver's license and insurance required; travel varies based on daily community schedules.
Required Qualifications
- Certified in North Carolina as a Certified Peer Support Specialist
- Valid Driver's License and insurance
- Must have lived experience and a personal recovery story specific to primary mental illness
- Must be able to perform essential job functions either unaided or with reasonable accommodation
Desired Qualifications
- One to three years' experience working with adults who have a mental illness and/or substance abuse diagnosis
