Job Summary
Health Care Aide (HCA) provides direct personal and nursing care for residents under the direction of the Registered Nurse and Licensed Practical Nurse with supervision by the Resident Care Manager. Responsibilities include assisting with ambulation, feeding, bathing, grooming, and restorative care; observing and reporting changes in residents’ physical and emotional condition; following care plans to deliver consistent, quality care; assisting with meal service and nourishment delivery; maintaining records of residents’ condition and treatments; and supporting timely, accurate documentation of care. Requires completion of an approved HCA/PSW program or equivalent and English communication skills; strong attention to detail, problem-solving, and time management; and a focus on positive relations with residents, families, and staff.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an approved Health Care Aide or Personal Support Worker course or equivalent, as recognized by Alberta Health Services.
