Job Summary
Respond at a moment's notice to spills involving rail, road, and fixed facilities, performing chemical transloading, neutralization, and decontamination. Organize personnel, equipment, and documentation for both active and potential response situations while ensuring all emergency response equipment remains operationally ready. Lead safety in all aspects of emergency response by following GFL procedures, completing safety documentation, and maintaining high service standards. Set up and participate in live training events to ensure personnel competency and fulfill on-call requirements for 24/7 coverage including weekends and holidays. Willingness to work out of town from time to time is required.
Required Qualifications
- Physically fit and able to wear chemical protective clothing and respiratory protection from time to time as required
- Valid Driver's License
- Valid work authorization in the country where the job is located
- Ability to fulfill on-call requirements
- Willingness to work out of town from time to time
- Exceptional skills in safety, planning, communication, organizing and time management
Desired Qualifications
- Experience in a position relating to hazardous materials emergency response
- CDL
- HAZWOPER Certification
- Advanced training including but not limited to: HAZMAT Technician, Tankcar Specialist, Tanktruck Specialist, ICS, Confined Space Entry, etc.
