Job Summary
Transport hazardous and non-hazardous waste streams to designated generator sites using Class A trucks, including roll-offs, tankers, and van trailers. Perform LTL pickups, conduct DOT/MOT pre-trip and post-trip inspections, and maintain accurate driver documents such as logbooks and waste manifests. Adhere to DOT regulations for placarding, loading securement, and load segregation while operating safely within state weight limits. Utilize company mobile applications for software maintenance and interact with customers to ensure satisfaction. Assist with facility housekeeping and may support lab pack and field service projects. Schedule includes Monday through Friday with variable overnight shifts based on customer routes.
Required Qualifications
- Valid class A commercial driver's license
- Hazardous material endorsement
- Tanker endorsement
- MVR that meets Company policy standards
- Ability to pass 40-hour HAZWOPER Training upon hire
- Ability to lift heavy objects
- Ability to perform physical tasks associated with loading and unloading materials
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to follow instructions accurately
- Ability to prioritize
- Ability to stay focused
- Ability to handle multiple, diverse responsibilities
- Ability to drive class A trucks
- Ability to operate a Tractor Trailer
- Ability to pull roll off trailers
- Ability to pull tanker trailers
- Ability to pull van trailers
- Ability to perform pickups of bulk and containerized hazardous and non-hazardous waste
- Ability to drive a straight truck on a periodic basis
- Ability to operate Monday through Friday
- Ability to work variable scheduling
- Ability to work 3-4 overnight shifts per week
- Ability to work weekends
- Ability to work holidays
- Clear understanding of state weight limit laws
- Ability to operate a vehicle in a safe manner
- Ability to abide by laws and regulations
- Ability to understand and utilize company technology, such as mobile applications and software maintenance
- Ability to perform DOT / MOT pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections
- Ability to effectively interact and communicate with customers
- Ability to understand DOT regulations as they pertain to hazardous waste collection, packaging and transportation
- Ability to perform accurate placarding
- Ability to perform secure loading
- Ability to perform HAZMAT load segregation
