Job Summary
Deliver ākonga-centered teaching for the Diploma in Enrolled Nursing programme, integrating Hauora Māori and Pacific health models with Te Tiriti o Waitangi principles. Facilitate hands-on learning through blended methods, case studies, and marae-based wānanga while supporting students in applying frameworks like the Hui Process and Meihana Model. Provide mentorship, guidance, and timely feedback to foster culturally competent healthcare professionals. Contribute to curriculum development and collaborate with Hanz teams to engage Māori and Pacific communities. This fixed-term part-time role (0.5 FTE) at HANZ Auckland Central Campus empowers the next generation of nurses within a diverse, inclusive environment.
Required Qualifications
- Current NZ Nursing Council registration as a Registered Nurse or Enrolled Nurse
- Deep understanding of Hauora Māori models, Te Tiriti o Waitangi, and health equity principles
- Commitment to advancing Māori health
- Recent clinical experience
- Passion for education
- Strong knowledge of tikanga, te reo Māori, and culturally appropriate communication
- Eagerness to share this knowledge with akonga and faculty
- Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to thrive in collaborative environments
