Haul Truck Trainer

Job Summary
Ensure all personnel on the Fort Hills site complete required training, including CBLs, client training, SOP reviews, and manufacturer-specific instruction. Conduct haul truck training and competency evaluations, while assisting maintenance with equipment training. Follow up on operator abuse issues using VIMS and telematics data, providing coaching and recommendations. Verify that mentors deliver training per company standards and maintain the onboarding log, updating crew designations weekly. Submit weekly reports on time and utilize the LMS for theory delivery, record keeping, and training documentation.
Required Qualifications
- 2 years of operating experience on mechanical haul trucks in a mining environment
- 1+ years of operational crew coaching, Lead Hand or supervisory experience, or a combination of all three types of experience
- Valid Class 5 Driver's License
- Ability to provide a recent Driver's Abstract
- Valid CSO
- Subject to Random Testing at: Suncor, Suncor Fort Hills and Kearl sites
- Pass Breath Alcohol Test
- Pass Urine Drug Test
- Pass Fitness-to-Work Health Assessment
- Pass Audiometric Testing
- Pass Vision Screening
Desired Qualifications
- Experience on electric trucks
- Experience on articulating trucks
- Experience on additional mining and support equipment (i.e. wheel loader, light plants, fuel and lube service)
- Post secondary education
- Registered Professional Trainer designation
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office application software and training application software (LMS)
- Good organizational and communication skills, specifically written, verbal and public-speaking skills
