Job Summary
Under the direction of the Team Lead, operate heavy equipment to move, load, and unload materials while conducting pre-operational checks and keeping the truck clean. Maintain equipment, comply with all policies and procedures, and report any damage to the Team Leader. Be alerted to risks to prevent losses and ensure adherence to road regulations on site. This safety-sensitive position requires completion of pre-employment testing, client training, and a competency assessment. A valid Class 5 driver's license, clean abstract, and valid CSO/BSO certification are mandatory. Eligible for daily overtime after 8 hours and weekly overtime after 44 hours on a 6-on, 6-off rotation with 12-hour day and night shifts. Located north of Fort McMurray, AB.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum one (1) year of experience operating Caterpillar 777, 785, 789, 793, 797, Komatsu 980
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Retention of a valid class five (5) driver's license
- Clean drivers abstract
- Valid CSO or BSO or combination of CSTS and OSSA
- Ability to speak, write and read English
- Must be legally eligible to work in Canada
- Must be able to work shift rotations; days and nights
- Must be eligible to work on Syncrude site
- Must be able to effectively lead and coach others
Desired Qualifications
- Oil and Gas industry experience
- College or industry courses in heavy equipment operating
- LPS training
