Job Summary
Operate various sizes and models of Haul Truck, including CAT 793, to complete assigned work at the Syncrude-Aurora site. Ensure compliance with all company, client, and legislated safety policies while reviewing safe work plans and conducting hazard assessments prior to job commencement. Perform walk-arounds, safety checks, and field-level risk assessments to verify heavy equipment is running properly, reporting any necessary repairs, incidents, or near misses immediately. Maintain a safety-first attitude and possess strong listening skills to support team operations. This 9-month, 12-hour shift role includes overtime pay for hours exceeding 12 or work on statutory holidays, with transportation provided from Fort McMurray. Candidates must hold a valid Class 5 Driver's License and 6+ months of haul truck experience, preferably in the oilsands sector.
Required Qualifications
- 6+ months of experience operating various sizes of Haul Trucks
- Oilsands specific experience
- A safety-first attitude
- Attentive and possess strong listening skills
- Must be proficient in English, both verbal and written
- Valid Class 5 Driver's License
- Valid CSO or BSO (Energy Safety Canada)
- Silica Awareness (Energy Safety Canada)
- Wood Buffalo Wildlife Awareness (Energy Safety Canada)
- OHS Alberta Legislation Awareness (Energy Safety Canada)
- H2S Awareness (Energy Safety Canada)
- Field Ergonomics (Energy Safety Canada)
- Ability to provide a recent Driver's Abstract
- Must be able to pass a Breath Alcohol Test
- Must be able to pass a Urine Drug Test
