Job Summary
The Hatchery Worker supports operations across hatchery transfer and processing crews, loading incubators, transferring eggs, assisting in chick processing, cleaning and disinfecting equipment, monitoring machines, performing minor maintenance, and ensuring adherence to safety, quality, and food safety policies. The role requires the ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in a hot, damp environment with PPE as required, with opportunities for overtime and a competitive benefits package.
Required Qualifications
- Ability to lift egg cases weighing up to 50 pounds
- Ability to work independently
- Good mechanical abilities
- Ability to adapt and learn various positions and procedures
- Ability to wear PPE such as gloves, safety glasses, and ear protection
- Exposure to temperatures ranging from 60 - 105 degrees
- Work in a wet, damp, dusty environment
- Must follow safety rules and PPE protocols
