Job Summary
Oversee daily department operations, hourly staff, and ensure product quality, GMP/SSOP, and HACCP standards are met. Communicate daily with superintendents and operations managers to align priorities and production needs with staff. Make decisions to fulfill goals for quality, safety, and productivity while managing staffing, discipline, and training for key positions. Control overtime, waste, yields, and order fill to meet measured department goals. Address safety or quality concerns immediately to assure safe, quality products are produced.
Required Qualifications
- Demonstrated basic knowledge of animal welfare and handling
- Specific knowledge of the department processes
- Demonstrated ability to effectively select, train, and manage staff
- Ability to effectively administer discipline and coaching according to company policies
- Effective decision-making skills
- Effective skills in reading and utilizing data provided from accounting and production reports
- Minimum HS Diploma or equivalent
- Experience in a leadership role
- Demonstrated ability to function as an effective leader
