Job Summary
Set the restaurant for business by preparing tables, laying out napkins, and refilling condiments during opening, closing, and weekly side work. Take all food and drink orders, run food, and utilize selling strategies to meet check average expectations. Stay updated on current menu choices, specialties, and deviations to answer guest questions and suggest dishes. Serve food and drink while creating a professional relationship with customers, assist the host in seating guests, and fill in for absent staff as needed. Maintain a safe and clean working environment by performing basic cleaning tasks and adhering to grooming standards. Participate in F&B and wine training programs as required. Flexible schedule required, including evenings, holidays, and weekends.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Personable disposition which is maintained in high pressure situations
- Basic understanding of wine, cocktails and liquor
- Basic food knowledge
- Strong organizational skills
- Excellent guest service and oral communication skills
- Common sense of urgency
- English fluency
- Ability to stand and walk for full length of shift, up to 12 hours at one time
- Ability to regularly carry up to 40 lbs
- Should be prepared to work long hours and a variable schedule, to include evenings, holidays and weekends
- Required to work evenings, holidays and weekends, sometimes in excess of 40 hours per week
- Flexible schedule required
